Lisa Dupree, RMT, of Reiki Tails is a Reiki Master/Teacher, specializing in Companion Animal Therapy.  She, like many holistic practitioners, incororates several modalities into her whole-health approach to animal healing, including energy work, aromatherapy, quantum touch, and homeopathy.  She has a lifetime of experience in dealing with a diverse assortment of companion animals, including cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, livestock and pocket pets.

Dr Sara Fox Chapman is a licensed homeopathic veterinarian and animal acupuncturist. She was trained and certified in homeopathy in England, and currently practices holistic and homeopathic veterinary care at the Animal Medical Center of Watkins Park.  She incorporates a diverse offering of holistic pet care, including nutritional management, acupuncture, Reiki, and classical homeopathy within the traditional clinic, truly offering a complementary approach to animal health and healing.

Julia Cahill is the co-founder of Crunchies Natural Pet Foods, the area's original and premier holistic health food store for pets.  Crunchies was born from Julia's tireless efforts in finding optimal nutritional products for her ailing cat, Bonkers.  She has a lifetime of experience in natural health care for humans, and it has been a natural extension for her to leverage that information into animal care. Crunchies has the largest selection of foods, vitamins, and supplements in the area for both dogs and cats, and has been serving the community for almost fifteen years.

AlternaCare for Animals is an effort to promote integrative health care options for companion animals in the greater Washington, DC area.

It is our goal to further increase awareness and enhance understanding of complementary health care options, and demonstrate additional methods by which guardians can obtain healing assistance for their cherished animal companions.

To achieve this goal, we are hosting an ongoing series of free lectures, demonstrations, and internet radio programs devoted to healing modalities that can be complementary to traditional veterinary medicine.  By exploring all of the options, we can obtain a truly integrative approach to medical management of our pets.

If you are a veterinarian or holistic practitioner specializing in companion animals within the Maryland/Virginia region, and would like to be included, please let us know.

Working together, we can provide a broader foundation of complementary and integrative healing options for the animals within our realm.
